The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity.
This discussion group will be honing in on how gender changes throughout life, even among trans people after they come out. Is it okay to change your identity throughout your life? How do you communicate this transition with others? How does the trans experience interact with non-traditional gender presentations?
We will investigate these questions and more as we discuss the different intricacies of the trans experience!
For safety and confidentiality reasons, this is a closed meeting for those who identify as trans and/or non-binary It is not appropriate for students to use the space for class research or interviews.
Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
