Farzana Islam has joined the Gender, Women’s, + Sexualities Studies department as our Program Management Specialist. She graduated as magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Baltimore. She has over ten years of professional experience in a wide range of management and project support related responsibilities, while working in a broad spectrum of industries, which included health care and engineering. Most recently, she has worked for the Department of Music at UMBC, where she gained substantial experience in departmental administrative duties and worked closely with students to set up their auditions and performances. In her free time, Farzana enjoys hiking, travelling, and spending time with her husband and rescue cats.
